Cut flowers are always welcome in every home, but they would be less well received if people realized that the beauty of freshly cut flowers can hide pests like carpet beetles and spiders within their lovely green foliage.
Whether you live in Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman or Jebel Ali, you should be very careful when bringing anything into your home. Even something like cut flowers should be thoroughly inspected for insects before being allowed inside your house or apartment.
If you see any sign of insects on a bunch of flowers, it is better to leave it behind than bring it inside. Be sure to inspect the stems and leaves as well as the petals of the flowers for telltale signs of infestation. Even spider webs nestled within the blooms can be a signal that it is better not to bring this bouquet of flowers indoors. There are plenty of other ways to show someone you care than by bringing home flowers that may harbor pests.
